Army of Ghosts – Fourth Impact

The final track from this first batch of new Army of Ghosts material is a gritty, cosmic Amen smasher. Much like “The Choral Tune,” the original version was produced at 120 BPM, and some of the samples have degraded over time after being bounced and re-pitched multiple times. This process introduced background noise and static—something I initially struggled with, as I wanted these new tracks to sound “clean” and professional. However, that added grit gives “Fourth Impact” an edge it wouldn’t have possessed if it were polished and meticulous.

It’s easy to get hung up on the tiny flaws in a production, but sometimes you just have to ask yourself: “Do I like the vibe?” If it passes that check, get it out there for others to hear.

There are more Army of Ghosts tracks in the pipeline, but we’re going to wait a few months before unveiling those. In the meantime, we’ve got plenty to share from friends of the blog—including Venom, Fushura, Sicknote, and Horrific James—as well as a gem from RQ’s unreleased vault. All of these capture that 90s spirit we love and the positive, uplifting energy of the Totems project.

“Fourth Impact” can be streamed in full below, or on our Soundcloud here.
